Account information: When you register, we collect your email address. We do not collect your name, phone number, or address unless you provide them.
CV and job description content: When you use the optimisation tool, we receive the CV text and job description you submit. This content is processed to generate your results and is not stored permanently beyond your session or account history.
Payment information: Payments are handled by Paystack. We do not store card numbers or bank details. We receive confirmation of successful payments and store the amount, currency, and plan associated with your account.
Usage data: We record the number of CV optimisations your account has performed, your subscription plan, and the date you created your account. We do not use third-party analytics trackers.

We do not use your CV content to train AI models, nor do we share it with third parties for any purpose.
To generate your optimised CV, your CV text and job description are sent to a third-party AI provider (Anthropic's Claude API). This processing is done under a data processing agreement that prohibits Anthropic from using your content to train their models. Your content is not retained by the AI provider after the response is generated.
YourCVPilot uses a single session cookie to keep you logged in. This cookie contains no personal information and expires when your session ends or after 7 days, whichever comes first. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. CV content submitted through the tool is retained in your account history to allow you to review previous optimisations. You can delete individual optimisations or your entire account at any time.
Payment records are retained for 7 years for accounting and legal compliance purposes.

We use HTTPS for all data transmission, store passwords using strong one-way hashing (bcrypt), and limit access to user data to what is necessary for the service to function. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
YourCVPilot is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
